There are only three surviving species of elephant left.  They are the African Bush, African Forest and the Asian or Indian Elephant.  Elephants are the largest land animal with the longest gestation period of 22 months, weighing on 260 pounds at birth.  Elephants can live on average of 50 to 70 years and have no natural predators.  There are less than a million left in Africa.
